In the spring of 2018, returning home from London, Paris, and the Netherlands feeling nostalgic and inspired, Kim Pollard embarked upon a journey to document her life, moments in time, and her experiences on Pender Island, through a series of paintings and journals.

As she began to delve deeply into research, reference material, and the photographs she had taken since first stepping foot on Pender in 2007, she became acutely aware of how quickly the landscape on this little island has changed in such a short time. And she reflected on the thought that things that are gone are not always lost, as long as we remember them.

Remaining on this creative path, Kim will continue to focus on what matters: the people, the places, the beautiful world around her, depicting these scenes through the memories she holds dear, the colours on the palette, the words written, and the landscapes and places that move her.
