About The Artist

Working with emotion, mood and using colour in an intuitive, expressive way, Kim Pollard creates a passionate vision of the landscapes and subject matter that deeply inspire her. Technique, experimentation and enlivened use of mediums allow the essence of her personality to transform to canvas creating a uniquely diverse and multifaceted collection of works.

Each painting has a different composition from the next with something new to be discovered in each, while the style remains consistent. Kim’s paintings are very livable as you could hang them on your wall and find something new to meditate on every day.

Kim Pollard was born in Vancouver BC and now lives on Pender Island, British Columbia, where her studio blends into the landscape of vine maples and woodland shadows. This setting is the perfect place of inspiration. Kim’s work reflects her respect for the Impressionists, with rapid brush strokes and natural light rendering landscapes that are beautifully composed and reminiscent of long walks in the country.

Pollard’s latest works, while not strictly abstract expressionism, is more spontaneous and gestural than her landscapes. With strong texture and bold strokes, she focuses on the horizon, invoking a sense of limitless possibility.

Kim Pollard’s paintings are highly regarded and are found in Private & Corporate collections in Canada, the United States and abroad.

“Painting to me is a bridge of communication of unspoken word, is universal and allows a perception of a moment in time to live forever”
